WHAT'S NEW FOR TITUSVILLE?
- Access Storage - Construction has begun for an approved mini-warehouse development. The development will consist of six buildings totaling 46,480 square feet of office and storage units. The proposed site sits on 4.04 acres and is located on South Street (S.R. 405) across from the Brevard County Transfer Station.
- New Covenant Fellowship - Currently meeting on N. Singleton Avenue, this congregation will soon be building a new facility
at the southeast corner of Tropic Street and Hillcrest Avenue. Plans have been submitted for their new facility which will consist of a 9,632 square foot building. A future 5,600 square foot addition is proposed as well.
- Winn Dixie - Winn Dixie has submitted plans to construct a new grocery store on a 120.98 acre parcel at the corner of Barna Avenue and Cheney Highway (SR 50). The proposed store will be
69,319 square feet with a future 18,480 square foot expansion. The plaza will also have two retail lease units available. This project will also include a 2.53 out parcel available as well.
- Balanced Care Corp - Plans have been submitted for review for a Assisted Congregate Living Facility (ACLF) located on South
Street (SR 405) across from Swan Lake MHP, east of Christian Life Center. This facility is on a 5.47 acre tract and will consist of 60 units that range between 210 to 330 square feet of living area per unit. The facility will house a central kitchen and dining area, as well as indoor/outdoor common areas. The Engineer on the project is Stottler Stagg of Cape Canaveral.
- Fire Station #11 - Currently located on S. Hopkins Avenue at Broad Street, this station will be relocating along with Fire
Headquarters, which is currently located in the City Hall Annex to the 16,966 square foot Sun Trust bank building located across from City Hall, which will be converted and an 4118 square foot addition added to accommodate Fire and Emergency Services.
- Fire Station #14 - Currently located on Sisson Road, behind the Auto Emporium. This station will relocate to a new 5486 square foot proposed station on the east side of Barna Avenue, between
Second and Third Streets in Sun Valley, across from Wuesthoff Street.
- Sun Trust Bank - The branch office currently located in downtown Titusville across from City Hall will be relocating. Their new location will be the site of the old police station on Cheney Highway (SR 50). Plans indicate a new 5330 square foot building with drive-thru facilities and a redesigned parking facility. An out parcel (located on the corner of Cheney and Barna) will also be included with the project, which is proposed for a future retail type use. Sun Trust bank's drive-thru facility at their current location downtown, will remain for convenience.
- Las Verdes - J.D. Pirrotta is at it again! The newest Townhouses in the La Cita area is blooming again. Another phase of the Las Verdes Townhouses has started. This phase will include two four unit townhouse buildings located on the newly created street Las
Verdes Court. And as the last units, these units promise to be just as exciting.
- Office Max - Construction has begun on the 23,500 square foot retail office supply store known as "Office Max" on the remaining empty lots on Garden Street, between Wendys and McDonalds.
- Eckerds - Yes that's right, there's going to be another new Eckerds in town. Eckerds #2 will be located at the corner of
Cheney Highway (Hwy 50) and Barna Avenue, next to the old police station, soon to be SunTrust Bank. This project will require the demolition of three existing apartment buildings located in the Villager Apartments on Barna Avenue. The proposed Eckerds store will be 11,347 sq ft. and will include a drive-thru pharmacy as well.
- Health Department - The Brevard County's Health Department has submitted plans for a 8700 square foot addition to the facility located on North Singleton Avenue. Improvements will also include a redesign and added parking facilities. The Engineer for the project is Burke, Bales & Mills out of Maitland.
- Ron Norris - A rezoning application has been submitted by Ron Norris Buick- Pontiac- GMC, to rezone adjacent residential property on Laurel Street, in order to develop and include these properties as part of the dealership for sales and service.
- Morris Chevron - At the corner of US 1 and Hwy. 50, you may have noticed that the Chevron Station is under major renovations. The previous Morris Chevron is being converted into a convenience store, which will be open 24 hours.
- St. Teresa Catholic Church - A Conditional Use Permit request has been submitted by St. Teresa's to construct a 13,000 square foot one-story academic building, a 17,500 square foot multi purpose building, and a 1,000 square foot storage facility. The additions are mostly for the private school use, which will include a new library, science lab, and music room. The old convent will be demolished and a gymnasium will be constructed.
- Astrotech - Astrotech has submitted plans for the construction of Building #9, a new 115,948 square foot satellite processing facility. This facility will be located on 23.5 acre tract off Grissom Parkway. The general contractor on the project is Metric
Construction.
- Hyperion Communications - A future fiber optic communication equipment center to be located on Main Street in the downtown redevelopment area.
- Brevard Aluminum - Currently located on Calle Corto off Foley Street in south Titusville, Larry from Brevard Aluminum is looking to relocate. Plans have been submitted to construct a new facility on Columbia Boulevard, near Kirkwood Estates. The new facility
will be the first to sit on a 3.69 acre tract and will consist of 9600 square feet, which will include office, retail floor area, and warehouse.
