Titusville is a friendly and unique waterfront community renowned by its residents as:
Titusville is located on the west shore of the Indian River directly across from the John F. Kennedy Space Center. The Atlantic ocean lies approximately 12 miles to the east of Titusville and Orlando, Florida is approximately 45 miles to the west. Cocoa, is 15 miles south with Daytona Beach, Florida 45 miles to the north.
Titusville's main highway arteries are I-95, US-1 and State Road 50.
Titusville offers a year-round temperate climate which provides for a sportsman's paradise that truly offers something for everyone to maintain a tremendous quality of life: golf, tennis, boating, sailing, jet skiing, sailboarding and salt water fishing to name a few.
The average January temperature is 68.6 degrees F, and the average August temperature is 82.0 F. The average rainfall is 65.19 inches.
The 1993 U. S. Census set Titusville's population at 40,679. 1996 estimated population is approximately 42,000.
The cities 1995/1996 budget was set at approximately $35,500,000. Of that, $5,100,000 was for Public Safety and $3,110,000 was for Fire and Emergency Services.
In addition to adequate elementary schools, Titusville has two high schools which are Titusville High and Astronaut High. Also located within the Titusville city limits is the North Brevard Campus of Brevard Community College (BCC). Located east of Orlando and within easy commuting distance is the University of Central Florida (UCF).
